Caring For Our Community
Whitmore Reans Welfare Centre (WRWC) is a registered charity, situated in the heart of a multi-cultural, diverse, and underprivileged community.
Welcome to WRWC
WRWC offers free advice, information and support services to some of the most vulnerable people in our society, to help them to deal with the challenges they face and to lead better quality lives. Where appropriate, we try to help people to learn to help themselves.
Our services are provided free of charge by experienced trained volunteers. Even if we feel that we don’t have enough expertise to help you, we will always do our best to let you know where you can find the expert help you need.
Although our services are free, we welcome donations which we need to pay for basic running costs, although none of our volunteers are paid. We are grateful to the support of Wolverhampton Council for enabling the use of the library premises and also for funding from the National Lottery which allowed us to relocate and resume services after Covid.

“During my visits to Whitmore Reans Advice Centre I have been pleasantly surprised to see that clients from all walks of life eg different ethnic groups; able and disabled people are prepared to travel from as far as from Walsall, Birmingham and London in order to benefit from advice from Ian Phillips and his team at the centre.
Long may such assistance continue. It clearly is a necessary community venture.”
“I went to this place to get help with application of universal credit. I had all the help l needed. Sadly l wouldn’t say the same about citizens Advice bureau.
Its better coming here to seek any advice than the citizens advice in Wolverhampton.”

Communication Services
Where language is an issue, we have volunteers who are able to communicate and translate.
Because of our reputation, our advisors are quite often contacted for help by people from Birmingham and on occasions London.
We are often asked for assistance by the Families Centre in Wolverhampton and other Council departments and organisations based in the city.
